We proceed to Jumeirah, the picturesque palace and residential area of Dubai, also home to the impressive Jumeirah Mosque. The tour then takes us to Al Bastakiya, the old part of Dubai, to reach the museum located in Al Fahidi Fort. We board the Abra (water taxi) to cross the creek to the spice souk. On our return, there is time to shop in the most famous landmark of Dubai - the gold souk.

We then head to Vigeland Park, the world’s largest sculpture park made by a single artist, Norwegian Gustav Vigeland. The afternoon and evening are ours to explore at leisure.

OVERNIGHT:  Hotel Bristol, OSLO

The Bergen Railway between Oslo and Bergen is considered one of the world’s most scenic train rides. This morning we depart from Oslo, with the journey taking us across one of Europe’s highest mountain plateaus, and through spectacular and varied terrain. At Myrdal we switch trains and board the famous Flåm Railway, a masterpiece of engineering, taking us 2,800 breathtaking feet in only 55 minutes to the village of Flåm on Sognefjord, Norway's longest and deepest Fjord (120 miles long, and more than a mile deep). From here we then cruise along the Nærøyfjord (UNESCO), the narrowest fjord in Europe with stunning views of waterfalls and small farms clinging to the steep mountainsides. Upon our arrival in Voss, we re-board the Bergen Railway train for Bergen, one of Norway’s oldest and most iconic cities.

OVERNIGHT:  Scandic Neptun, BERGEN

This morning we take a leisurely paced walking tour of Bergen. We’ll explore the picturesque, old Bryggen Wharf (UNESCO) with its tiny wooden houses and narrow streets. We can mingle with the locals at the fish market located in the "heart" of the city. It’s then time to prepare for our memorable 6 night cruise sailing along the stunning Norwegian coastline. This evening we board the MS Nordyls ship to start the “world’s most beautiful voyage”. The ship is named after the Northern Lights. The decor, colours and artwork have been inspired by this natural phenomenon. It has 469 passenger beds and can carry 35 cars. The ship has a Sun Deck to laze around on and take in the scenery as you sail on by. It also has a sauna, library, large panorama and observation lounges, a restaurant and cafe, conference rooms and playrooms. We’ll be in for a real treat - the Hurtigruten ships have been a hallmark of the Norwegian coast since 1893. The cruise also has an Expedition Team and activities on board. Guest are encouraged to relax in the ship’s lounges and comfortable reclining chairs after a day of experiencing the wide selection of active excursions and activities that are on offer. So sit back and take in the treasure trove of landscapes, scenery, sights and sounds that will surround us on this voyage. And of course we hope to see the Northern Lights in our travels.

Lunch at own expense and arrangement.

This morning’s view from the ship will be either the tranquil Stadthavet Sea or the majestic Geirangerfjord, as we make our way to the charming village of Ålesund. We take a stroll through the fairy-tale streets, a vibrant town known for it’s colourful art nouveau architecture, and its stunning setting at the entrance of the Geirangerfjord. Then it’s onto Molde for a brief stop at this trading and cultural hub dating back to medieval times.

Today, we enjoy some time in the historic city of Trondheim. Founded by Viking King Olav in A.D. 997, it was the location of the first capital of Norway and is still the city where new kings receive their ceremonial blessings. Later, we continue towards the Land of the Midnight Sun, passing rugged coastlines en route to the traditional fishing community of Rørvik, which sits among 6,000 islands, inlets and reefs.

Today we become one of a select few as our cruise ship crosses the Arctic Circle on our way to Bodø. As we gaze at the distant rugged peaks and to the infinite sky…keep an eye out for white-tailed sea eagles found in this region. We continue sailing, crossing the stunning Vestfjord and past the breathtaking Lofoten Islands before pausing briefly at the villages of Stamsund and Svolvær. Later, we sail on past the majestic Trollfjord.

Take in the serenity as we sail past a chain of islands on our way to the small town of Harstad. We stop here for a moment before continuing on to Tromsø, capital of the Arctic. Surrounded by unspoilt wilderness, Tromsø is a fantastic place to experience some of natures wonders such as the beautiful fjords and mountains, perhaps even spotting some whales that enter the fjords every winter to feast on herring. Famed as a viewing point for colourful Northern Lights that sometimes light up the night sky, we will be in for a treat here in Tromsø!

Our voyage continues along Norway’s northernmost region, pausing briefly along the way at sleepy villages and busy ports surrounded by breathtaking panoramas. We have some time in the peaceful town of Honningsvåg, capital of North Cape, situated closer to the North Pole than it is to Oslo.

Early this morning we arrive in Kirkenes, home to the Sami people who have herded reindeer for centuries. Here we disembark the ship and are transferred to the airport, returning  back to Oslo. This evening we gather for a farewell to Norway dinner, as our next adventure to Iceland begins tomorrow.

Lunch at own expense and arrangement.

OVERNIGHT:  Hotel Bristol, OSLO

Today we fly to Reykjavik and discover Iceland - a land and culture forged by fire and ice. Steaming lava fields reflect a volcanic nature. Massive glaciers sculpt mountains and valleys, leaving thundering waterfalls and breathtaking landscapes. We enjoy free time to explore the city’s old section that features Hallgrímskirkja church, City Hall, the harbour and Reykjavik’s oldest building, home of the Kraum Icelandic design centre.

Lunch and Dinner at own expense and arrangement.

We travel the incredible “Golden Circle”, a route that encompasses many of Iceland's most renowned natural wonders, looping from Reykjavik into the southern uplands of Iceland and back. We’ll marvel at the beauty of Gullfoss, (Golden Falls) a stunning 100-foot double cascade. We then journey to Thingvellir National Park (Þingvellir), the nation’s most historic area. Here, Icelanders gathered in A.D. 930 and established what is considered to be one of the world’s first parliaments. We find ourselves standing upon one of the globe’s most geologically significant landscapes! Thingvellir’s rugged rift valley is a UNESCO World Heritage site that marks the crest of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, the point where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. The last of the three primary stops on the Golden Circle is the Geysir Geothermal Area in Haukadalur, where we’ll see The Great Geysir and the lively Strokkur, erupting steam and gas into the cool Icelandic air every few minutes. We later return to Reykjavik and have the afternoon at our leisure.

Lunch and Dinner at own expense and arrangement.

With the day at leisure, you may like to choose to relax on a scenic whale watching cruise, venture out on a horseback riding excursion, or travel out to the Reykjanes peninsula to spend quality time relaxing in the geo-thermal waters of the famed Blue Lagoon.

Lunch and Dinner at own expense and arrangement.

After breakfast we farewell our newfound friends and are transferred to the airport where we board our flight to Copenhagen, Denmark. Upon arrival we travel to our hotel and enjoy dinner.

In flight meals. Lunch at own expense and arrangement.

Today we enjoy a full day of touring in Copenhagen, Denmark’s beautiful capital. We will visit the little mermaid, Kastellet and Gefion Fountain. We will watch the change of guards, visit the Rosenborg Castle as well as visiting the famous Tivoli Gardens.

Lunch at own expense and arrangement.

We depart Copenhagen mid morning for our flight home via Dubai.
